Gyroresonance measurements: FASR issues
Require high spatial resolution imaging across the whole Sun
at closely spaced frequencies from 1-20 GHz: large no of
antennas, antenna size issue, mosaicking at high frequencies?
Time resolution not crucial compared to other goals
Clearly valuable to have as broad an instantaneous bandwidth
coming into the correlator as possible for continuity in
frequency, gives more flexibility in data selection
Frequency resolution of order 5% (60 frequencies from 1-20
GHz): gives 1 arcsec vertical resolution for plausible LB
Standard gyroresonance analysis only requires 2 circular
polarizations
